Senior executives in a strategic leadership discussion

Leadership Consulting

We work with executives, managers and their teams to build the specific leadership habits that improve how decisions get made, how conflict gets resolved, and how people actually perform on Monday morning.

What we do

Most leadership programmes produce binders that collect dust. Ours produce changed behaviour. Here is how we structure the work.

Executive coaching

One-to-one coaching for directors and senior managers, typically running six to twelve months. We start with a 360-degree feedback round, set two or three concrete development goals, and meet every fortnight. Between sessions you get written prompts and short exercises tied to real situations in your calendar that week. Our coaches have each spent at least fifteen years in operational leadership roles before moving into coaching, so the advice stays grounded.

Team alignment workshops

A two-day facilitated session for leadership teams of four to twelve people. Day one maps how decisions currently flow through the group: who initiates, who blocks, where information stalls. Day two rebuilds those patterns with explicit agreements about authority, escalation and communication cadence. Clients tell us the biggest shift is that meetings get shorter because everyone knows who owns the decision before the meeting starts.

Succession and pipeline planning

We help organisations identify who is ready for a bigger role and what gaps remain. The process takes about eight weeks. We assess candidates against the actual competencies the role demands (not a generic framework), create individual development plans, and design stretch assignments that test readiness in low-risk conditions. The deliverable is a live succession map your HR team can maintain independently after we leave.

Why clients stay with us

We started Value Lead Professionals in 2016 because we kept seeing the same pattern: organisations spent large budgets on leadership development and got polished slide decks in return, but behaviour in the corridors stayed the same. Our founding team of three consultants had each run P&L-responsible business units, and we knew that leadership change only sticks when it connects to the work people are already doing.

Today we are a team of nine. Every consultant holds either a coaching accreditation from the ICF or a relevant postgraduate qualification, and every one of them has managed people in industry before joining us. That matters because it means we can push back on a CEO with credibility, and we can empathise with a first-time manager without patronising them.

Our average client engagement lasts fourteen months. Repeat work accounts for roughly sixty percent of our revenue, which tells us more than any testimonial could.

What clients say

"After six months of coaching with their team, our senior leadership group went from three-hour status meetings to focused forty-five-minute decision sessions. That alone freed up about twelve hours a month across the group."

Rachel Dunmore, COO, Grafton Logistics

"They told us things we didn't want to hear about how our board communicated. Then they helped us fix it. Two of the changes were small, almost trivial, but they removed friction that had been there for years."

Niall Corrigan, Chair, Millfield Housing Association
